Wisconsin Judicare’s staff provide several opportunities to meet with community members. Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic: Serves taxpayers who earn up to 250% of poverty. Staff assist with tax controversies and provide information on taxpayers’ rights to minority populations. Legal Grounds: Office hours are held the first Wednesday of each month at 2:30pm-4:30om at the YWCA in Wausau. Coffee and free legal advice is offered. The YWCA is located at 613 North 5th Street in Wausau. Helpline: Every Monday through Friday, staff attorneys are available to answer simple legal questions, offer advice, brief services and referrals to eligible Judicare clients. To schedule an appointment, please call the Judicare office and press 5 for Helpline services. Achieving Stability: Judicare staff attorneys or volunteer attorneys provide legal information on a variety of topics to residents of Steven Point’s Hope Center, located at 1600 Briggs Street. Sessions are scheduled on selected Monday evenings from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Women’s Community: Judicare staff attorneys are available every Tuesday afternoon from 1:30-3:30 at the Women’s Community in Wausau. Free advice and referrals are offered. The Women’s Community is located at 700 Gilbert Street. The Neighbors' Place: Judicare staff attorneys provide advice and referrals to individuals at The Neighbors' Place in Wausau. Individuals can contact The Neighbors' Place to schedule an appointment. Their office is located at 745 Scott Street in Wausau. Native American Elder Outreach: Judicare attorneys make site visits to elder meal sites on all 11 Native American reservations throughout each month. For more information, please contact Judicare. Ho-Chunk Expanded Services: Wisconsin Judicare’s Indian Law Office provides services to Ho-Chunk tribal members statewide. |
